Welcome to LMH Health! We are recruiting for two PGY1 resident positions. Our health system includes a 174-bed non-profit, community-owned hospital and multiple primary and specialty care clinics in and around Lawrence, KS. Residents gain patient-centered core clinical experience in internal medicine, emergency medicine, critical care, oncology, transitions of care, and ambulatory care. Elective learning experiences offered include infectious disease, cardiology, and advanced experiences in internal medicine, emergency medicine, and oncology. Longitudinal experiences include committee leadership, formulary management, medication safety, code response, staffing, research, and teaching. We take great pride in preparing residents for PGY2 training or clinical practice and board certification upon program completion. A Teaching Certificate is offered, with opportunities to lecture at the local school of pharmacy and precept employed interns as well as APPE students. Unique to our program, residents may elect to participate in the Kansas-2-Kenya Medical Mission program each Spring (subject to availability). Additionally, The Joint Commission (TJC) has recognized LMH Health with Advanced Certification as a Primary Stroke Center and our institution was recently awarded Heart Failure treatment accreditation by the The American College of Cardiology (ACC). Multiple LMH ambulatory care practice sites have received Patient Centered Medical Home NCQA Level 3 recognition, and LMH Health Cancer Center recently earned Accreditation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC).
