The Baptist Medical Center South PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program is committed to providing residents with diverse training opportunities within an enriched clinical environment. The resident’s training will be tailored to encourage development of both clinical and leadership skills that will produce competent and confident practitioners equipped to practice anywhere along the spectrum of opportunity that the profession of pharmacy provides. The diverse patient population and team dynamics at our institution also allows the resident to gain experience and prepare for further training in a PGY2 discipline upon graduation. Our goal will be to allow for the development of a professional maturity that not only promotes the profession of pharmacy but also encourages a mentality of service.
The Baptist Medical Center South Pharmacy Residency Program will be accepting two PGY1 residents for this year. Applications are accepted through PHORCAS and are reviewed by the program’s Residency Advisory Council. The applicants chosen for an interview will be notified by email. Paper applications and those received by email will not be accepted or considered.
Applications must meet the following minimum criteria to be considered for an interview:
One must be a graduate from an accredited pharmacy school that is approved by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy prior to resident orientation.
One must be able to show academic achievements and interests that model the philosophy of this residency, included but not limited to: high academic standards, compatible practice interests, evidence of leadership and community involvement.

Applications are accepted through PHORCAS and must be received on or prior to January 5, 2026. Visit: www.ashp.org/phorcas.
One must prove competence in both spoken and written English language.
We do not sponsor visas, therefore applicant must prove ability to get a visa if needed.
The Residency Advisory Council will review applications once stated criteria are met. Candidates who meet the above criteria are not guaranteed an interview as time, space, and economic capacities are limited.
