University Health, in collaboration with The University of Texas College of Pharmacy and the University of the Incarnate Word Feik School of Pharmacy, is pleased to offer a Postgraduate Year 2 (PGY2) pharmacy residency in ambulatory care. This 12-month residency is designed to provide a challenging training environment for individuals interested in developing clinical competency in the area of ambulatory care pharmacy practice.
Required rotations include multidisciplinary family medicine, primary care, specialty care in endocrinology or cardiology, MTM staffing, anticoagulation, and advanced clinical practice. Elective rotations include but are not limited to transplant, endocrinology, cardiology, hepatology, cystic fibrosis, and HIV/AIDS. Longitudinal experiences include academic pharmacotherapy with teaching opportunities, practice management, major research project, orientation, and professional development.
In order to be considered for this residency, the applicant must:
Possess a strong interest in ambulatory care pharmacy practice
Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Complete an ACPE-accredited PharmD Degree program
Be enrolled in or complete an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
Participate in the ASHP Resident Matching Program
