The Division of Pharmacy at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center offers an ASHP accredited one-year PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy residency program. MD Anderson is a world renowned comprehensive cancer center. The institution has more than 700 inpatient beds and approximately 1.4 million outpatient clinic visits yearly. Our structured PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency Program is concentrated in direct patient care activities designed to develop clinical expertise and competence in the pharmacotherapeutic management of cancer patients. Core residency learning experiences provide exposure to a variety of solid tumor, malignant hematology, and stem cell transplant patient populations as well as elective time that will be tailored to the interests and career goals of the resident. Residents will also gain experience with oncology pharmacy operations, drug information, medication safety, investigational pharmacy services, clinical research, and education to health care professionals, patients, and the general public. Through these diverse experiences, residents will develop the skills necessary to become a successful and comprehensive oncology clinical pharmacy specialists.
