The CPS @ Summa Health System PGY1 is a community-based residency program with a focus in specialty pharmacy. This specialty pharmacy residency program offers unique opportunities for gaining clinical experience and leadership skills. With CPS, you have a partner who can help jumpstart your career in health-system specialty pharmacy. 

Summa Health is an integrated delivery network in Akron, OH. Summa Health launched its ACHC and URAC-accredited specialty pharmacy service in partnership with CPS in 2019. Today, locally embedded pharmacists and pharmacy liaisons provide high-touch support to patients across 55 clinics.

All applications must be received by January 6, 2026 and will be screened according to the following criteria: 

• Enrollment in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). 

• Completed pharmacy practice residency application through PhORCAS

• Eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio. 

• Curriculum vitae

• Three letters of recommendation
• College of Pharmacy transcript

Applications will only be accepted through the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS). This service may be accessed by visiting ashp.org/phorcas. Applicants are responsible for completing all required materials and verifying availability of references by January 6, 2026.
