Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) pharmacy residency programs build upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined in the educational competency areas, goals, and objectives. Residents who successfully complete PGY1 residency programs will be skilled in diverse patient care, practice management, leadership, and education, and will be prepared to provide patient care, seek board certification in pharmacotherapy (i.e., BCPS), and pursue advanced education and training opportunities including postgraduate year two (PGY2) residencies. The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency conducted by Beebe Healthcare is seeking accreditation with ASHP.
Beebe has a rich history of educating the next generation of healthcare, offering a nursing program through its over 100-year-old, award winning Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing. We expanded on this tradition in 2022 with the opening of the R. Randall Rollins Center of Medical Education (RRRCME) located in the historic Shaw Building at the Lewes Campus. The RRRCME houses our undergraduate medical education programs, as well as our graduate medical education programs and continuing medical education programs. We welcomed our first class of Family Medicine Residents in July 2023, with plans to expand to more programs in the next five years.
Requirements
Graduate or candidate for graduation from an ACPE accredited degree program (or one in the process of pursuing accreditation) or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the NABP
