Residency Showcase Program Listings

MultiCare’s PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency develops competent clinical practitioners who are ready to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care to a diverse patient population. Ambulatory care clinical pharmacists practice in primary care and specialty settings in Tacoma and Puyallup, providing direct patient care under collaborative drug therapy agreements as credentialed providers. Residents practice longitudinally in two Family Medicine Residency clinics and will gain experience as clinical pharmacist faculty. Rotations are available in primary care, diabetes, geriatrics, palliative care, neurology, psychiatry, oncology, rheumatology, addiction medicine, and others based on resident interest. Residents teach diabetes education classes as part of their staffing commitment. The program has a focus on teaching and scholarship, with a yearlong preceptor development program and an optional teaching certificate.

Eligible candidates will be a graduate of an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy or Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate, and are licensed or eligible for licensure in Washington state. PGY2 candidates must be participating in or have completed an ASHP-accredited or accreditation eligible PGY1 residency. They must satisfy eligibility requirements for employment, including acceptable results on a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Please note that MultiCare does not sponsor work visas.

• Letter of intent

• Three letters of reference
• Official transcripts of all professional pharmacy education from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree program or FPGEC program
