The purpose of Jackson Hospital & Clinic’s PGY1 pharmacy residency program is to build on the Doctor of Pharmacy education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for PGY2 pharmacy residency training.
Program Overview
Our 12-month program, accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), is personalized and flexible. Residents are given a solid foundation by starting with a 7-week orientation period that trains them in an operational capacity as well as in our core pharmacy consult services (pharmacokinetics and nutrition). The remaining required core rotations are:
General Internal Medicine I and II (4 weeks each) *
