About Our Program
The ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center offers a comprehensive, well-rounded experience designed to develop confident, capable, and compassionate pharmacists. Residents will refine their clinical knowledge, leadership, and teaching skills in a supportive environment that encourages professional and personal growth.
Located in Mechanicsville, Virginia, our program provides a wide range of learning experiences tailored to each resident’s goals. Core and elective rotations allow exposure to diverse patient populations and clinical practices, preparing residents for a variety of career paths or further postgraduate training.
Residents work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during interdisciplinary rounds and participate in a variety of committees to further develop communication and collaboration skills. They are also engaged in multiple longitudinal experiences and serve as co-preceptors for pharmacy students. A teaching certificate is included as part of the residency.
