Based on the goals and objectives set forth by ASHP, Asante’s PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Programs, at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center and Asante Three Rivers Medical Center, build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for post graduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training. Residents completing the PGY1 program at Asante will be prepared to provide patient-centered care to a diverse patient population.
The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Programs, at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center and Asante Three Rivers Medical Center, are fully accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
Asante is not-for-profit health system located in Southern Oregon. This systems serves residents from a large geographical area in Southern Oregon and Northern California.
Training opportunities
Asante Residents will have the opportunity to participate in a broad range of required experiential training segments with a focus on inpatient pharmacotherapy and numerous electives in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center is the 378 bed regional referral and trauma center featuring the latest medical technology and clinical expertise. The hospital team delivers nationally recognized heart and stroke care, orthopedic services, cancer care and diabetes care, as well as a comprehensive range of key services including neurology and neurosurgery, bariatric surgery, rehabilitation services, the region’s only neonatal intensive care unit, home care and hospice services, and the only hospital-based sleep center in Southern Oregon.
For the tenth year in a row, Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center has been named a 100 Top Hospital in the nation by Fortune/Merative. The 100 Top award recognizes excellence in clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, patient experience and financial health. Rogue Regional Medical Center received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain - MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2025. The award recognizes our commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients and signifies that we reached an aggressive goal of treating these patients to standard levels of care as outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations. Rogue Regional Medical Center is one of only 323 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor.
ARRMC employs approximately 2,900 employees and has a registered nurses bargaining unit, Oregon Nurses Association (ONA). ONA represents 900 nurses at present, which is about 15% of the total workforce. Asante is investing over $1 billion over a ten-year period for new construction, renovation, deferred maintenance, planned replacement, equipment and information technology.
Asante Three Rivers Medical Center (ATRMC) in Grants Pass, Oregon is a fast-paced 125-bed community-focused center built in 2001. ATRMC combines careful attention to patient needs and a healing environment in the service of a rural, medically underserved population of well over 100,000 people across essentially all extreme SW Oregon. ATRMC is DNV Stroke Certified and operates as the second busiest and most acute Level Three trauma center in Oregon. ATRMC became the first hospital in the nation to receive the designation of “Mother Friendly” by the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services.
