SSM Health Monroe is a multi-specialty health care center, servicing patients from Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. The program’s primary focus is on advanced ambulatory care practice, with a strong emphasis on teaching. PGY2 residents are credentialed and privileged as medical staff and work under comprehensive scopes of practice to manage their own patient panels. Required rotations include Pharmacotherapy Clinic (a pharmacist-managed clinic that cares for patients with chronic diseases) at both the main clinic in Monroe and the Freeport, IL clinic, leadership and practice advancement. Elective rotations include Pulmonology, Oncology, Neurology, and Behavioral Health. There is an opportunity to teach in the Pharmacotherapy lab at the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy.
