PGY1 residency with core rotations including general pediatrics, ambulatory clinics, infectious diseases, neonatology, hematology/oncology, critical care, practice management and teaching. Elective rotations are designed to suit individual needs and interests. Longitudinal experiences include distribution (staffing), resident conference (presentations), research (2 IRB approved projects), teaching, leadership, and ambulatory care.
The resident will have the opportunity to precept pharmacy students. Completion of a residency project is also required.
Residency requirements include:
Licensed pharmacist within 90 days Completed orientation, training, competencies Abide by hospital & departmental policies and remain eligible for employment Complete all projects as assigned Complete an MUE and major research project (including manuscript for publication), including poster and platform presentations Complete assigned involvement in assigned committee Complete a drug monograph or formulary drug class review Attend the annual conference for a local professional organization Complete required staffing weekends Participate in all recruitment activities Successfully pass all rotations Achieve all required ASHP Residency goals & objectives at a level of 4 of 5 Make satisfactory progress toward becoming an becoming an independent practitioner during each assigned learning experience and longitudinally throughout the year
