Pharmacists are in a unique position to identify potential health disparities and to work towards improving the health outcomes of every individual who comes their way. The Health Disparities Fellowship is a 12-month PharmD fellowship for pharmacists interested in improving health outcomes. The fellowship is designed to prepare pharmacists to become a leading researcher and advocate for improving health outcomes through pharmacist-provided, community-based interventions in the United States.
What you'll do
Gain experience researching health disparities and community-based pharmacist interventions that are directed towards improving patient outcomes
Learn about pharmacist-provided services and their impact on patient outcomes
Engage with community-based preceptors to identify the nature of services provided, and the barriers and facilitators to these services
Help design interventions to improve health outcomes in local communities
Engage with local and national organizations to understand the challenges associated with improving health outcomes, and strategies that can be used to navigate them
Work with student pharmacist and [health professions student organizations] to create community-based interventions and evaluate their impact

The fellow will be required to join key local, state, and national associations as a member, as well as attend and present at local and national association meetings where health disparities and pharmacist services are discussed.
You must meet the following requirements to apply for the Health Disparities Fellowship:
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy
Licensure or eligible for licensure in the State of New York
Individuals who have completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency or PGY2 specialty residency are preferred.
This fellowship is an initiative from the Touro College of Pharmacy Center of Excellence, a federally funded project dedicated to researching and addressing healthcare outcomes .
