Residency Showcase Program Listings

The PGY1/PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency at Prisma Health Richland Hospital is designed to develop residents into effective leaders of pharmacy practice within a diverse and complex integrated health-system. During the PGY1 year, residents will follow the core clinical curriculum while also gaining exposure to clinical and operational leadership skills and concepts. This year emphasizes developing your clinical judgment, enhancing your communication skills, and integrating evidence-based practices into patient care.  

During the second year, the resident is integrated into our leadership team.  The resident will follow a curriculum designed to hone high-level leadership and administrative skills.  The resident will be exposed to strategic planning and advanced leadership experiences, taking on responsibilities that will prepare them for administrative positions after completing the program.  This year provides hands-on experience to lead initiatives that drive innovation and improve patient outcomes.

We offer one PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership position annually. There are a total of 15 pharmacy residents across multiple specialties at Prisma Health Richland.

Application Requirements:

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited degree program.
• Licensed or eligible to apply for a license to practice pharmacy in the state of South Carolina.
• Participation in the ASHP Residency Matching Program (“The Match”).
• Completed application via PhORCAS
• A copy of transcripts: Undergraduate or non-pharmacy transcripts are not required. Only pharmacy school-related coursework must be submitted.
• Three professional references using the Standardized Reference Template in the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS).
• Copy of curriculum vitae.
• Letter of intent describing reasons for seeking residency.
• Completed application submitted in PhORCAS on or before deadline January 2, 2026.
• A full interview is required for the Prisma Health PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency (37026).
