 NKCH Pharmacy Department 
 North Kansas City Hospital&#8217;s Pharmacy Department promotes safe and effective patient care through all aspects of the medication use process. It&#39;s staff collaborates with providers and allied health professionals to continually monitor, deliver and improve patient-centered care. 
 The Pharmacy Department emphasizes continuous professional development and provides opportunities for direct patient care and interaction, involvement in hospital-based committees and professional organizations, and other educational opportunities 
 PGY-1 Residency 
 The overarching goal for North Kansas City Hospital&#8217;s Post Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Residency program is to develop skilled, well-rounded professionals who are either ready to begin practice or enter a PGY-2 program immediately after completing the program. To meet this goal, PGY-1 residents will engage in a&#xa0;flexible and challenging curriculum. Preceptors work with each resident to create&#xa0;an educational&#xa0;experience that supports individual goals.&#xa0; 
 Over the course of the year, residents will attend national and local professional meetings, participate in a teaching certificate program offered by the&#xa0; University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy , and design/conduct a research project. Requirements 
 Residency candidates must: 
 
 Hold a degree from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education accredited school of pharmacy 
 Possess a Missouri license within 90 days of beginning of their residency year 
 Complete basic life support and advanced cardiac life support training and certification during orientation
