 The Englewood Hospital postgraduate year one (PGY-1) pharmacy residency program is accredited by the&#xa0; American Society of Health-System Pharmacists &#xa0;(ASHP). Residents in our program will have the opportunity to accelerate their clinical and professional growth through a series of&#xa0; rotations &#xa0;designed to provide robust experiences in patient-centered care and pharmacy practice management. The program prides itself on a&#xa0; strong track record &#xa0;of preparing residents for roles in a multitude of practice settings upon graduation and developing the pharmacy leaders of the future. 
 Purpose and Mission 
 Upon completion of the residency program, residents shall be competent, confident, and compassionate pharmacy practitioners delivering pharmaceutical care in different healthcare settings and will have acquired skills that improve medication safety and prevent medication misadventures. They will be able to effectively educate patients, healthcare professionals, and the community, while functioning as part of an interdisciplinary care team. The resident will follow a personal philosophy of practice, be a self-directed learner, and exhibit a strong commitment to the advancement of the pharmacy profession. 
 The PGY-1 pharmacy residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY-2) pharmacy residency training. 
 Outcomes 
 
 Manage and improve the medication use process 
 Provide evidence-based, patient-centered medication therapy management with&#xa0;interdisciplinary teams 
 Exercise leadership and practice management skills 
 Demonstrate project management skills 
 Provide medication and practice-related education/training

 Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree 
 Graduation from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy 
 Eligibility for New-Jersey Pharmacist Licensure*

Englewood Hospital and Medical Center is accepting applications for residency year 2021-2022.  The Department of Pharmacy is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. The PGY-1 pharmacy residents will have the opportunity to work with an outstanding team of pharmacists, physicians, nurses and our PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Resident. The pharmacy leadership is involved with organizational and legislative initiatives on a state and national level. &#xa0;  The resident will be able to experience the impact of &#xa0; pharmacy practice outside the institutional setting. SJUMC is an academic teaching and practice site for the Rutgers University,  &#xa0;  Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy and various schools of pharmacy. Clinical Pharmacy Services include a team of specialists who collaborate to provide high quality care. They are engaged in patient care, policy and protocol development, teaching, and serve on various committees, projects, and other initiatives. 
 The pharmacy team is comprised of specialists in the following areas: 
 
 Administration &#38; Medication &#xa0; Management 
 Ambulatory Care&#8212; Diabetes 
 Ambulatory Care&#8211; HIV 
 Behavioral Health 
 Cardiology 
 Critical Care (MICU, SICU) 
 Emergency Medicine

 Pediatrics/Neonatology

 The ASHP Accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency is a 52-week program designed to prepare residents for various professional and career opportunities. The four PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residents will have the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team throughout a series of learning experiences. The residents will work closely with our team of highly trained clinical pharmacists in areas such as critical care, emergency medicine, infectious disease, ambulatory care and transitions of care. Each clinical pharmacist is actively involved in the resident&#8217;s growth in clinical knowledge, research, and teaching. Furthermore, members of our team are involved with pharmacy organizational and legislative initiatives on a state and national level. Residents who successfully complete the PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency should possess competencies that qualify them for clinical pharmacist and/or faculty prepare them to receive the Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist Certificate.&#xa0; 
 &#xa0; 
 PGY&#8211; 1 Resident Positions: &#xa0;  4

 Required Rotations: &#xa0;Ambulatory Care, Critical Care or Emergency Medicine, Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Transition of Care 
 &#xa0; 
 Elective Rotations:  Academia, Behavioral Health, Cardiology, HIV, Informatics, Oncology, Geriatrics/Palliative Care or repeat a required rotation 
 &#xa0; 
 Longitudinal Experience:  Anticoagulation, Antimicrobial &#xa0;  Stewardship, Administration/Medication Management, &#xa0;  Pharmacy-to-dose consults (vancomycin, aminoglycosides, warfarin) and Pharmacy Operations 
 &#xa0;
