Ambulatory care practice will involve medically underserved populations using collaborative practice agreements to provide chronic disease management and patient education. Hypertension, diabetes, COPD, and Hepatitis C are the primary disease states. The resident will be involved with expansion of pharmacy services. Additionally, the resident will learn and develop clinic management skills at a rural underinsured clinic. The resident will be an integral part of academic life at our campus. Didactic lectures, IPPE/APPE experiential training, and applied skills labs will comprise the teaching component. Scholarly and service activities will also be included.
