The program offers a variety of experiences and has equipped residents for positions in specialized clinical roles, PGY2 training, academia and others. Grandview Medical Center has been graduating well-trained PGY1 pharmacy residents since 2010. Day to day, residents are directly involved in providing pharmaceutical care to patients as part of the multidisciplinary team in a variety of practice areas including internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, hematology/oncology, antimicrobial stewardship, neonatal intensive care and cardiology.  The PGY1 Resident will be trained in Pharmacy Consult Services including pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring, nutrition support, anticoagulation, and antiarrhythmic medication patient counseling.
