 Cencora and Children&#39;s Hospital of Philadelphia are excited to offer this Combined PGY1 Pharmacy &#38; PGY2 Corporate Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (CPAL) with Masters residency. This innovative program has been  strategically crafted to prepare residents for success as a future pharmacy leader in corporate pharmacy, specializing in pharmacy supply chain management. The resident will undergo comprehensive PGY1 health systems training, completing their PGY1 Pharmacy residency at Children&#39;s Hospital of Philadelphia, followed by a PGY2 in Corporate Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (CPAL) with Cencora (formerly AmerisourceBergen). The PGY2 year will be completed remotely while being physically located at the PGY1 health system. The PGY1 residency program at Children&#39;s Hospital of Philadelphia &#xa0;provides a one-year, in-depth training experience in the provision of full-spectrum integrated pharmacy services in pediatrics. Residents will work in a progressive environment building a solid foundation in skills including drug information, pharmacokinetics, general pediatrics, intensive care services and oncology, as well as working with projects in practice advancement. The residents will also gain experience in drug use evaluation, ADR reporting, formulary evaluations and medication error monitoring. The PGY2 Corporate Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (CPAL) residency at Cencora is designed to build upon the resident&#8217;s patient-centered care and operational experiences. It prepares residents to assume high-level managerial, supervisory, and leadership roles in the corporate sector, with a specialized focus on supply chain management. During the PGY2-year, residents will acquire in-depth knowledge and engage in essential supply chain activities pivotal to pharmacy practice. These activities include pharmacy supply chain principles, understanding the stakeholder ecosystem, wholesaler distribution and economics, health system leadership, drug shortage strategies, inventory management, 340B contracting, and medication cost management strategies. Additionally, the resident will pursue a master&#8217;s degree as part of this innovative two-year program.&#xa0; Residents will be employees of the PGY1 health system for the first year of the program and are subject to all resident requirements, policies and procedures, and benefits as outlined for PGY1 residents in that health system.  PGY2 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency programs to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in specialized areas of practice. PGY2 residencies provide residents with opportunities to function independently as practitioners by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experience and knowledge and incorporating both into the provision of patient care or other advanced practice settings. Residents who successfully complete an accredited PGY2 Infectious Diseases pharmacy residency are prepared for advanced patient care, academic, or other specialized positions, along with board certification.

 This PGY1 program provides the resident with a solid foundation of experiences focusing on all aspects of inpatient care. We promote the development of a&#xa0;compassionate clinical pharmacy specialist, for the ever-changing healthcare landscape, through progressive clinical,&#xa0;managerial, and research experiences. 
 Residents will train at Houston Methodist, Texas Medical Center, which is the flagship, 900-bed teaching facility in the Houston Methodist Hospital System. It has earned worldwide recognition since it opened its doors in 1919, and is ranked as the #1 hospital in Texas by U.S. News and World Report. PGY1 pharmacy residents have had the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop innovative ideas at Houston Methodist since the inception of the residency program in 1987.

The Wellstar MCG Health Augusta post-graduate experience provides comprehensive training in acute care, ambulatory care, specialty/community pharmacy, infusion, long term care, drug information, med-use policy development, practice management, teaching, research and leadership at a tertiary care academic medical center.&#xa0;  In August 2026, Wellstar MCG is opening a 100-bed community teaching hospital in nearby Columbia County, providing an  additional unique experience  for the PGY2 resident in 2026-2027!&#xa0;
