								<description>Augusta, Georgia,  Wellstar MCG Health (formerly AU Medical Center) provides a 24-month  ASHP-accredited  PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) Pharmacy Residency, which is offered concurrently with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA)* from the Augusta University Hull College of Business. The Wellstar MCG Health Augusta post-graduate experience provides comprehensive training in acute care, ambulatory care, long term care, drug information, med-use policy development, practice management, teaching, research and leadership at a tertiary care academic medical center.&#xa0; 
 This two-year program has been established to train the future leaders of our profession by providing them with the tools and knowledge to lead patient-centered care in a dynamic health care environment.&#xa0; The PGY1 year focuses on foundational comprehensive clinical training with the PGY2 year focused on pharmacy administration and leadership. 
 * Candidates who already hold an MBA have the option to pursue a Master of Public Health (MPH), further expanding their expertise in population health, public policy, and health system outcomes.&#xa0;

 A PGY2 health-system pharmacy administration and leadership residency builds upon PGY1 residency graduates&#39; competence in the delivery of patient-centered care and in pharmacy operational services to prepare residents who can assume high level managerial, supervisory and leadership responsibilities.&#xa0; Areas of competence emphasized during the program include safe and effective medication-use systems, quality assurance and improvement, the management of human resources, the management of financial resources, use of technology, and advanced leadership.&#xa0; The residency lays the foundation for continued growth in management and leadership skills. 
 Upon graduation, residents are prepared for a clinical or operational management/supervisory role in a variety of work settings. 
 This accredited program is the only 2-year (PGY1/PGY2) with MBA residency for pharmacy administration and leadership in Georgia (first resident graduated spring 2024)

 The residency program is unique in that the resident will play an integral role in the promotion of population health services at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center. Learning experiences begin with short blocks for introduction to primary practice sites, with the majority of the 12 month residency year being longitudinal in nature. Residents will provide care for adult, pediatric, and geriatric populations via multidisciplinary patient-centered, team-based approaches and using collaborative drug therapy management protocols. Residents will develop skills in patient care, leadership, teaching, and research. Residents will be able to take advantage of the strengths of the UGA College of Pharmacy, Wellstar MCG Health and Medical College of Georgia programs and gain experience in a variety of inter-professional teaching activities. Activities may include didactic, small group/laboratory, medical resident/physician faculty lectures, and experiential teaching with both pharmacy and medical students. Residents will have an unpaid appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at  UGA College of Pharmacy  and can earn an  advanced Teaching Certificate  for teaching/precepting completed as part of the residency.

 The PGY-2 Pediatric residency at the Children&#39;s Hospital of Georgia at Augusta University (Wellstar MCG Medical Center) provides the resident advanced clinical training in pediatric pharmacotherapy.&#xa0; It is designed to assist the resident in developing knowledge, skills, and expertise in pediatric pharmacy practice. The program is customized to meet the individual needs and goals of the resident by providing numerous opportunities for patient care, research, teaching, and scholarship.&#xa0;&#xa0;Upon completion of this residency, the pharmacist will be a confident clinical pharmacy practitioner in pediatrics who engages in multidisciplinary collaboration, demonstrates advanced critical thinking skills, and is able to design and implement complex medication recommendations. The resident will be given the opportunity to grow into an autonomous and independent practitioner and have the ability to practice in a variety of different patient care settings upon completion of the program. 
 Through activities integrated into our robust residency training, our pharmacy residents teach and precept for the  University of Georgia (UGA) College of Pharmacy  and receive an&#xa0;unpaid appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at UGA.

								<description>Chesterfield, Missouri,  St. Luke&#39;s Hospital - St. Louis offers two PGY1 pharmacy residency positions and one PGY2 Internal Medicine residency position. Both programs are accredited by American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). 
 The PGY1 is a one-year program designed to provide a broad pharmaceutical care experience to prepare our residents for further residency training or job opportunities. Required rotations are orientation, internal medicine (cardiology, neurology, and nephrology- pick 2 of 3), critical care- medical ICU, infectious disease, anticoagulation management, and pharmacy management/patient safety. Residents also select three electives of their choosing, in areas of critical care- surgical ICU, emergency medicine, oncology, transitions of care, or the third internal medicine selective rotation. Opportunities exist for precepting and presenting to pharmacy students, staff, and medical residents. A research project and seminar CE presentation are required. A teaching certificate will be obtained through UHSP-StLCoP. Staffing coverage required on a rotating basis. 
 The PGY2 Internal Medicine residency is a one-year program designed to build upon the knowledge and skills acquired through PGY1 training and prepare graduates to work as clinical pharmacy specialists in internal medicine or for clinical faculty positions. Required rotations blocks are orientation, cardiology, internal medicine (pulmonology, precepting, academia, and advanced practice), as well as infectious disease. Required longitudinal experiences included leadership and outpatient cardiac clinic. The resident also selects two electives from the following list: anticoagulation, critical care- MICU, critical care-SICU, nephrology, and oncology. A research project and seminar CE presentation are required. Staffing coverage required on a rotating basis.

 The pharmacy department at St. Elizabeth Hospital provides 24-hour services to all patient care areas. Pharmacists work in a decentralized model on various units including the intensive care unit, cardiology, oncology, neonatal intensive care unit, orthopedics, neurology, psychiatry, and medical/surgical unit. Pharmacists participate in multidisciplinary rounds and readmission reduction efforts, provide clinical dosing and monitoring services, and precept introductory and advanced pharmacy practice students.  The PGY2 year builds on the clinical foundation developed during the PGY1 year to develop pharmacists capable of being future leaders of integrated health systems. This comprehensive program provides training experiences in the fundamentals of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system.
