								<description>Visalia, California,  Kaweah Health PGY2 ambulatory care pharmacy residency program offers an ASHP-accredited PGY2 program for 1 resident located in Visalia, CA.&#xa0; Kaweah Health (KH) is an integrated health care delivery system anchored around a 480-bed community-based teaching hospital. With a compliment of ancillary services and ambulatory clinics, KH provides a broad array of primary and specialty care to a largely rural and medically underserved community. The Outpatient Pharmacy Department provides services to the community through our retail and home infusion pharmacies, as well as via ambulatory care pharmacists located in all seven of our primary care clinics.

 The specific program for each resident varies based upon the resident&#8217;s goals, interests, and previous experience. However, all residents are required to complete the above core rotations. Various elective rotations are available to provide flexibility in pursuing individual goals. The resident may choose to complete an elective rotation in one or more of the core rotation practice areas or choose another practice area. Examples of other elective rotations include further concentrated learning experiences in the core rotations or in burn unit, transplantation, nutrition support, or heart failure. An optional Teaching Certificate Program through an affiliated University School of Pharmacy is also available.

 An on-site interview is also required. The residency commences by July 1.

								<description>Fort Wayne, Indiana,  PGY1 Community-Based  (2 positions) 
 This PGY1 residency program builds upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge, skills and abilities to practice in a wide variety of outpatient settings with diverse populations or to pursue a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency.&#xa0; The Parkview team is committed to providing the residents with a variety of patient care experiences that will allow them to become leaders in their practice who will be able to create change and advance patient care services.&#xa0; 
 As part of a health system, the resident has the opportunity to work in a unique hospital outpatient pharmacy that facilitates transitions of care, focuses on co-workers as a patient population and serves a variety of outpatient clinics, including specialty physician practices. Residents can customize their schedule to meet their goals while also being provided a core set of experiences to become well-rounded practitioners.

 PGY1 Pharmacy  (5 positions) 
 Parkview&#39;s PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program has been an established ASHP- accredited program since 1996. The Pharmacy residency program is designed to enhance clinical and professional skills of newly graduated pharmacists. Residents will work closely with experienced preceptors in various clinical settings within the acute and ambulatory care environment.&#xa0; 
 The program will assist residents in developing their leadership skills to fulfill their practice responsibilities and provide care in a technologically advanced environment. Throughout the year, residents will learn to balance the demands of pharmacy practice, family, and personal growth while staying committed to life-long learning. 
 Upon completion, residents are well-prepared for clinical roles or further specialization through a PGY2 residency program.

 PGY1/2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership  (1 position) 
 Parkview offers a 24-month PGY1 &#38; PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency.&#xa0;This residency program builds upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge, skills, and abilities to practice in a wide variety of pharmacy leadership settings with diverse populations. 
 The Parkview team is committed to providing the residents with a variety of patient care experiences in the first 12 months that will provide them a baseline and context of patient care to build upon for the last 12 months focused on administration and leadership. Graduates will have the potential to become leaders in their practice able to create change and advance patient care, services, and lead a pharmacy team. 
 Being part of a health system, the resident has the opportunity to work in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Residents can customize their schedule to meet their goals while also being provided a core set of experiences to become well-rounded practitioners. Parkview will provide PGY1-PGY2 HSPAL resident with the training and skills to take on a leadership role in a variety of settings.

 PGY2 Ambulatory Care  (two positions) 
 Parkview offers a 12-month ASHP-accredited PGY2 ambulatory care residency for two residency candidates. 
 Parkview&#8217;s PGY2 ambulatory care residency is designed to develop the resident into an independent, competent, confident and compassionate practitioner with the ability to provide excellent patient care in the ambulatory setting. This resident will develop a core skill set in comprehensive medication management, patient interaction, communication, practice management, team building and time management. The program will assist residents in developing their precepting skills and will integrate precepting into various learning experiences.

 PGY2 Critical Care  (1 position) 
 Parkview&#39;s ASHP-accredited PGY2 Critical Care Program is a 52-week program designed to develop the resident into an independent, confident and exceptional pharmacist with specialized skills in the critical care setting.&#xa0; 
 Parkview Regional Medical Center is a 500-bed level II adult and pediatric trauma center with critical care services in medical, cardiology, surgical, trauma, and neurocritical care intensive units along with extensive services in our emergency medicine department.

 PGY2 Internal Medicine  (1 position) 
 Parkview offers a 52-week ASHP-accredited PGY2 Internal Medicine Pharmacy Residency for one residency candidates. The Program is designed to develop the resident into an independent, competent, confident, and compassionate practitioner with the ability to provide excellent patient care in a variety of acute care environments. 
 The resident will primarily practice at our Parkview Randallia hospital, a 250-bed hospital that is the home of Parkview Health&#39;s GME Internal Medicine residency program. The PGY2 IM pharmacy resident will have extensive interaction with our medical residency programs in a community teaching hospital setting, rounding with attending physicians, medical residents, and medical students. Elective opportunities are available at both Parkview Randallia and Parkview Regional Medical Center, a 500-bed level II adult and pediatric hospital.

 All residency candidates must register for the Matching Program and have a National Matching Services (NMS) applicant number. 
 Candidates must use the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS) to submit applications; includes transcript, CV, letter of intent, and exactly 3 letters of recommendation. 
 Candidates will be contacted regarding selection for interviews in mid to late January based on each residency program&#8217;s process and selection criteria, in accordance with ASHP Standards. 
 PGY2 pharmacy residency positions may be filled internally through the Early Commit process.
