								<description>Winston-Salem, North Carolina,  The PGY2 Oncology Residency at Wake Forest Baptist is a 12-month full-time postgraduate training experience based within the Atrium Health System. The program focuses on developing clinical, analytical, teaching and leadership skills as it relates to the hematology and oncology patient. The program is individualized for each resident based upon his or her goals, interests, and previous experience. Residents will have the opportunity to precept postgraduate year one residents and pharmacy students and to provide a variety of educational programs. Residents will be involved in departmental or organizational initiatives that focus on improving the safety and quality of patient care as it relates to hematology and oncology. &#xa0;This position will be one of four oncology residents for the next year. 
 Required rotations include Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy (SCT-CT), Leukemia, Medical Oncology, Pediatric Oncology, three outpatient clinic rotations as well as a longitudinal clinic experience, currently in the CNS and gynecology and oncology clinics. Elective rotations allow the opportunity for residents to tailor the year to their interests and include but are not limited to Breast Clinic, GI Clinic, GU Clinic, Lung Clinic, Lymphoma Clinic, Malignant Heme Clinic, Myeloma Clinic, and Palliative Care. &#xa0;Additionally, advanced rotations in Leukemia, SCT-CT, and pediatric oncology are available. 
 The resident will gain experience in academia through preceptorship of pharmacy students/residents, preceptor development, as well as didactic lectures at Campbell University and Wake Forest University PA Program.

 During the first year, residents will have required learning experiences in orientation (1 month), ambulatory care (6-8 weeks), anticoagulation (4 weeks), long-term care (4 weeks), internal medicine/acute care (6-8 weeks), intensive care unit (6-8 weeks), and pharmacy administration (4 weeks). Additional ambulatory care learning experience may be substituted for the intensive care unit during the PGY1 year. &#xa0; Required rotations during the second year include cardiology (4 weeks), critical care (8 weeks), hematology/oncology (4 weeks), infectious diseases (4 weeks), pain management/palliative care (4 weeks), and mental health/psychiatry (4 weeks). UH provides multi-disciplinary care as the lead Level 1 Trauma Center for South Texas, a level IV NICU, level IV, maternity center, and level IV epilepsy center.&#xa0; This 12-month residency is designed to provide a challenging training environment for individuals interested in developing clinical competency in the area of pediatrics. 
 Required rotations include: General Pediatrics, General Pediatric Specialty Services, NICU, PICU, Congential Cardiac, and Emergency Medicine.&#xa0;

 This 52 week ambulatory care residency provides the resident exposure to commonly encountered disease states in an ambulatory care setting. Additionally, the resident will gain valuable experience in population health, local and national level practice management,&#xa0; academic detailing, and developing clinical programs.&#xa0;&#xa0;

 Rotations 
 Structurally the residency is divided into rotations of varying length.&#xa0; The rotations are arranged to combine&#xa0; required experiences along with electives to allow for growth of skills&#xa0; throughout the year.&#xa0; The resident is simultaneously expected to prioritize and work on ongoing requirements in longitudinal clinical, didactic, management and residency project rotations.

 Parkview offers a 12-month ASHP-accredited PGY2 ambulatory care residency for two residency candidates. 
 Parkview&#8217;s PGY2 ambulatory care residency is designed to develop the resident into an independent, competent, confident and compassionate practitioner with the ability to provide excellent patient care in the ambulatory setting. This resident will develop a core skill set in comprehensive medication management, patient interaction, communication, practice management, team building and time management. The program will assist residents in developing their precepting skills and will integrate precepting into various learning experiences.

 Parkview&#39;s ASHP-accredited PGY2 Critical Care Program is a 52-week program designed to develop the resident into an independent, confident and exceptional pharmacist with specialized skills in the critical care setting.&#xa0; 
 Parkview Regional Medical Center is a 500-bed level II adult and pediatric trauma center with critical care services in medical, cardiology, surgical, trauma, and neurocritical care intensive units along with extensive services in our emergency medicine department.

 PGY2 Internal Medicine  (1 position) 
 Parkview offers a 52-week ASHP-accredited PGY2 Internal Medicine Pharmacy Residency for one residency candidates. The Program is designed to develop the resident into an independent, competent, confident, and compassionate practitioner with the ability to provide excellent patient care in a variety of acute care environments. 
 The resident will primarily practice at our Parkview Randallia hospital, a 250-bed hospital that is the home of Parkview Health&#39;s GME Internal Medicine residency program. The PGY2 IM pharmacy resident will have extensive interaction with our medical residency programs in a community teaching hospital setting, rounding with attending physicians, medical residents, and medical students. Elective opportunities are available at both Parkview Randallia and Parkview Regional Medical Center, a 500-bed level II adult and pediatric hospital.
