Methodist South Hospital is a community hospital in the heart of Memphis recruiting for one (1) PGY-1 Pharmacy Resident. Residents will have the opportunity to rotate through a variety of settings in the hospital including internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, and transitions of care. Longitudinal experiences include participation in the UTHSC Teaching and Learning Program, development and completion of a major project, participation on interdisciplinary committees, presenting at pharmacy resident conferences, and leadership development along with other Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare pharmacy residents.
Requirements include Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy, completed PhorCAS application, eligibility for Tennessee licensure, college transcripts, curriculum vitae, and three completed recommendation forms. Please note that candidates must apply and interview separately to each site for our PGY1 residency.
Methodist South Hospital is a community, 156-bed acute care facility that provides a wide array of services including a 24-hour Emergency Department, obstetrics & maternity program with a Level II neonatal intensive care unit, surgical services & comprehensive cardiac services. The PGY-1 program is pre-candidacy status for ASHP accreditation, and is in the process of applying for accreditation as our first resident completes their training during the 2022 - 2023 residency year. The hospital’s emergency department is one of the busiest in the Methodist Lebonheur Healthcare system, and sees a variety of adult and pediatric patients. Methodist South has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a Best Regional Hospital, is a DNV accredited hospital and certified primary stroke center, and achieved a 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade A, the highest distinction in patient safety and quality.
