Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix received Magnet™ accreditation from the American Nurses Association. As a major teaching hospital, we support 250 medical residents, 50 pharmacy students and 2,000 nursing students. The Department of Pharmacy has implemented several novel clinical programs including management / monitoring in pain, solid organ transplant, anticoagulation, stress ulcer prophylaxis, and ICU sedation. The department was the recipient of the prestigious ASHP Best Practices Award for developing a novel clinical program with pharmacist prescriptive authority in the management of acid suppression therapy. Clinical preceptors are actively involved in teaching, process improvement initiatives, clinical research and publication. Required Rotations
