Residency Showcase Program Listings

The PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency Program at Allegheny General Hospital was established in 2010 and was most recently re-accredited by ASHP in 2021 The program focuses on chronic disease state management and exposure to diverse patient populations (clinical, social, and economic). The PGY2 pharmacy residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency programs to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in specialized areas of practice. PGY2 residencies provide residents with opportunities to function independently as practitioners by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experiences and knowledge and incorporating both in the into the provision of patient care that improves medication therapy.
