We've offered ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency programs since 1972. As an institution, we were formerly known as Palmetto Health Richland. Our name may have changed, but our dedication to providing residents a year committed to excellence in teaching, patient care, and research has not. Prisma health Richland, a progressive 641-bed regional teaching hospital located in Columbia, SC, is affiliated with the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy and School of Medicine. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center, with freestanding heart and children's hospitals, a pediatric ICU & Level III neonatal ICU. Our hospital is accredited as an Advanced Certification Comprehensive Stroke Center and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) program by The Joint Commission.
We offer two infectious diseases PGY2 positions annually. Our postgraduate year two residency in infectious diseases pharmacy at Prisma Health Richland Hospital offers 12 months of clinical training with an emphasis on research and academia. This program provides comprehensive training in both general ID and HIV. Residents will participate in student instruction and will be designated with an adjunct clinical instructor appointment at the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. Pharmacy and infectious diseases organizational involvement will be emphasized in the program. The resident will work closely with the Prisma Health/USC School of Medicine-Columbia Medical Fellowship Program and will be fully integrated into clinical and presentation schedules.
Three letters of recommendation submitted via PhORCAS.
