The Pharmacy Practice Residency program is a comprehensive 12-month training designed for pharmacy practitioners aiming to become proficient in providing pharmaceutical care to hospitalized patients. This intensive program focuses on enhancing the skills and knowledge necessary for general practitioners to excel in a clinical setting. Residents will have the opportunity to work closely with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and pharmacists, to optimize patient outcomes. The curriculum covers various aspects of pharmacy practice, including medication therapy management, drug information, pharmacokinetics, and therapeutic drug monitoring. Throughout the residency, participants will engage in clinical rotations in diverse settings such as cardiology, infectious diseases, critical care, and internal medicine. These rotations are tailored to provide hands-on experience and foster critical thinking and decision-making skills. Residents will also be involved in medication reconciliation, formulary management, and participation in interdisciplinary rounds. Additionally, residents will be expected to engage in research projects, presentations, and medication use evaluations to enhance their research and analytical capabilities. They will also participate in educational activities for healthcare professionals and patients, including medication counseling and discharge planning. By the end of the residency, residents will be well-equipped to manage complex medication regimens, provide evidence-based recommendations, and deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care.
