The Institution Founded in 1902, Luminis Health - Anne Arundel Medical Center (LHAAMC) is a 425-bed non-profit, community-teaching hospital located on a 57-acre medical campus in Annapolis, MD. LHAAMC is nationally recognized for joint replacement, emergency heart attack response, cancer care, and women's services. LHAAMC ranks second in Maryland for the number of births annually and provides Level III neonatal intensive care. Additional on-campus services include an outpatient infusion center, mental health and substance use treatment center, a medical group, and other health enterprises of the Luminis Health System. With more than 1,100 medical staff members, 4,700 employees, and 750 volunteers, LHAAMC consistently receives awards for quality, patient satisfaction, and innovation. The medical center is centrally located in beautiful Annapolis, MD often referred to as the “Sailing Capital of the World.” The PGY1 Residency Program The Department of Pharmacy Services at LHAAMC will welcome its seventh class of pharmacy residents to the post-graduate year one (PGY1) practice residency for the 2025-2026 program year. The 12-month ASHP PGY1 program prepares pharmacists for general and specialized clinical pharmacy practice. Residents completing the program will be able to provide direct patient care in a broad range of inpatient and ambulatory clinical practice settings. Pharmacy experiential locations include Acute Inpatient Care, Ambulatory Care Clinic, Behavioral Health Facility, and Outpatient Infusion Center. These innovative practice areas provide many opportunities to gain experience in cardiology, critical care, emergency medicine, infectious disease, informatics, oncology, and psychiatry.
