The pharmacy practice residency gives an in-depth experience in a broad area of pharmacy practice including nutritional support, pharmacokinetics, internal medicine, infectious disease, critical care, informatics, hospice, emergency medicine, cardiology, and administration. Residents present formal lectures and in-services to other healthcare providers as well as completing a major project. Also, the resident will be involved in various committees throughout the year. MRHC partners with the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy to offer a Teaching and Learning Certification for the MRHC residents. As part of this program, the resident must serve as a preceptor to pharmacy students during their IPPE and APPE rotations.

About Magnolia Regional Health Center
The postgraduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency program at Magnolia Regional Health Center is an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Accredited Program. At the completion of the program, residents will be competent, confident, and independent practitioners of pharmacy practice. Residents will be given in-depth experience in broad areas of pharmacy practice including nutritional support, pharmacokinetics, internal medicine, infectious disease, critical care, informatics, hospice, emergency medicine, cardiology, and administration.
Magnolia Regional Health Center offers two PGY1 pharmacy residency positions annually in an acute care hospital setting. The residency features learning experiences in Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Cardiology, Nephrology, Psychiatry, Informatics, and Administration. Throughout the year, residents will have the opportunity to participate in four different longitudinal experiences, including academia, hospice, ambulatory care, and one major residency project. Residents have the opportunity to present in-services to other healthcare providers and serve as preceptor to pharmacy students durin...g IPPE and APPE rotations. Other projects are also required throughout the year. Teaching opportunities are available, including an optional teaching certificate program available through the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy.
