MultiCare’s PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency develops competent clinical practitioners who are ready to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care to a diverse patient population. Ambulatory care clinical pharmacists practice in primary care and specialty settings in the South Puget Sound (Tacoma and Puyallup, Wash.), providing direct patient care under collaborative drug therapy agreements as credentialed providers. Rotations are available in primary care, diabetes, hospice/palliative care, neurology, psychiatry, outpatient oncology, specialty pharmacy, addiction medicine, and others based on resident interest. Residents practice longitudinally in two family medicine teaching clinics where they participate in instructing medical residents, PGY1 pharmacy residents, and pharmacy students. The program has a focus on teaching and scholarship, with a yearlong preceptor development program and an optional teaching certificate. See our website for more details.
Eligible candidates will be a graduate of an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy or Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate, and are licensed or eligible for licensure in Washington state. PGY2 candidates must be participating in or have completed an ASHP-accredited or accreditation eligible PGY1 residency. They must satisfy eligibility requirements for employment, including acceptable results on a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Please note that MultiCare does not sponsor work visas.
