Rhode Island Hospital is pleased to offer a variety of pharmacy residency programs accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Our programs include a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 programs in Critical Care, Ambulatory Care, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, and Oncology. PGY2 Amb care and Oncology are offered in partnership with the College of Pharmacy at the University of Rhode Island. In 2020 Rhode Island Hospital added a PGY1/2 PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Program. This PGY1 pharmacy residency program builds on doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
