This flexible residency encourages each resident to develop a personalized course of training. Extensive clinical pharmacy services within a progressive environment provide the resident with active clinical preceptorship in medicine, general/transplantation surgery, neurosurgery, infectious diseases, pharmacokinetics, pain management, cardiology, neonatology, pediatrics, ambulatory care, home infusion, investigational drugs, critical care, oncology, drug information, emergency medicine, anticoagulation, and clinical research. Each resident gains experience in design and accomplishment of a research project, design and conduct of a drug-use evaluation, presentation of formal lectures, and teaching and preceptorship of pharmacy and allied health students. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Federally Designated Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center. The pharmacy department is computerized prescriber order entry and has centralized distribution with decentralized patient care pharmacy services. We are a major clerkship site for Jefferson College of Pharmacy.
