Specialty Pharmacy is quickly growing and we are no exception! The postgraduate year two (PGY2) specialty pharmacy administration and leadership residency is a new addition to the Community Health Network Residency Program. This residency is recruiting its first resident for the residency year. A specialty pharmacy is different from a traditional pharmacy. A specialty pharmacy coordinates many aspects of patient care and disease state management and are designed to improve clinical and economic outcomes for patients with complex health conditions with close contact and management by clinicians. The goal of this residency is to help the resident develop through flexible opportunities in leadership, new service development within specialty pharmacy and clinical practice experience in a variety of specialty areas. Located on the North Campus, Community Health Network Specialty Pharmacy (CHNSP) provides comprehensive high touch care for our patients requiring specialty medication therapy and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to provide exceptional care. CHNSP is dually accredited by URAC and ACHC indicating to our patients, stakeholders, and payors that we are consistently meeting very high standards that allow our patients to receive the best treatment. Accreditation also provides verification that the pharmacy staff has the level of training, expertise, and competency necessary to perform patient care services and clinical case management. The resident will be expected to participate in all areas of specialty pharmacy.

About Community Health Network Specialty Pharmacy
Welcome!
Congratulations on your decision to pursue residency training! As a resident in our program, you will train in a community-based hospital and healthcare system. Our residents enjoy training opportunities in multiple settings including acute care hospitals, a specialty cardiology hospital, an extensive array of primary care and specialty care clinics, MD Anderson Cancer Center, a specialty pharmacy, and the largest acute care behavioral care pavilion in the state.
Each program may afford the resident with an opportunity to pursue an academic experience with close faculty mentorship to lead case discussions and serve as a co-preceptor during the year.
We encourage you to communicate with our preceptors or residents. Our residents are our greatest assets, and for prospective applicants are often the best sources of insider information regarding our program. Experience has shown us that the more you get to know us, the more likely you will want to join our program.
