Residency Overview

The Pharmacy Residency Program at SSM Health – Saint Anthony’s Hospital – Oklahoma City is a PGY-1 program in the heart of Midtown Oklahoma City. Clinical pharmacists and clinical pharmacy specialists at Saint Anthony’s hospital provide decentralized services in a variety of unit types including medical/surgical, cardiac, neurology, step down, emergency department and intensive care. The program will equip the resident with a robust knowledge base and skill set to practice as a clinical pharmacy specialist with confidence upon completion. Rotation examples: Administration, Ambulatory Care, Behavioral Health, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Critical Care Day and Nights, Cardiology, Neurology, Medical/Surgical Days and Nights, Step-Down and Transitional Care, ER, and Transitions of Care. Ambulatory care experiences include anticoagulation clinic, autoimmune clinic, and population health. Longitudinal experiences in the residents choice of ambulatory care setting or transitions of care, academia, major project and presentations, and staffing.

Applicants must be graduates of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy (PharmD preferred) and be eligible for licensure in the state of Oklahoma. A complete application includes:

• Curriculum vitae
• Three letters of recommendation
• Official pharmacy school transcript
• Letter of intent

The letter of intent should highlight the applicant’s career goals, motivation for pursuing a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency, and specific interest in completing the residency at SSM Health St. Anthony’s Hospital.
