About our Program

The purpose of the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center is to build on the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center is an ASHP-accredited, 12 month, full-time postgraduate program that offers experiences with diverse patient populations, a variety of disease states and a range of patient problems. The program provides an environment that is supportive of learning and training for the resident to achieve the purpose, goals and objectives of the residency program and to progress over the course of the residency to be more efficient, effective, and able to work independently in providing direct patient care.  The resident will develop knowledge and skills in four primary competency areas:

• Patient care
• Advancing practice and improving patient care
• Leadership and management
• Teaching, education and dissemination of knowledge

Eligibility

• Eligible for employment in the United States
• Graduate of an ACPE accredited Doctor of Pharmacy Degree Program
• Obtain Pharmacist License in the state of Colorado within the first 60 days of employment and no later than September 1
• Successful completion of background check and drug screen
