About our ProgramThe purpose of the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center is to build on the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training. The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center is an ASHP-accredited, 12 month, full-time postgraduate program that offers experiences with diverse patient populations, a variety of disease states and a range of patient problems. The program provides an environment that is supportive of learning and training for the resident to achieve the purpose, goals and objectives of the residency program and to progress over the course of the residency to be more efficient, effective, and able to work independently in providing direct patient care. The resident will develop knowledge and skills in four primary competency areas:

About Uchealth Parkview Medical Center PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
UCHealth Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado, offers general acute healthcare and health specialty services. Previously a private, non-profit organization, Parkview joined the UCHealth network in 2023. Parkview is licensed for 350 beds and provides a full range of healthcare services, including an Advanced Level III Trauma Center, along with exceptional comprehensive cardiac and orthopedic care. As a vital healthcare source, Parkview’s service area includes Pueblo County and 14 surrounding counties, which together represent 370,000 total lives. Parkview is a hospital committed to the education and training of healthcare professionals and currently offers an array of Graduate Medical Education including Internal Medicine residency, Pharmacy residency and fellowships in Gastroenterology, Pulmonary/Critical Care, and Cardiology.
