The residency program is based at a Walgreens retail pharmacy, as well as a Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy, in the Oklahoma City metro area. These two settings offer the resident exposure to common chronic disease states and complex therapies for various conditions. The pharmacists at these sites work closely with medical staff, case workers, and clinical coordinators to provide optimal drug therapy for patients. In addition, residents gain insight on management issues that can affect the implementation of patient care services in the community pharmacy setting. The residency is offered in partnership with Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy.
