The Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in West Palm Beach offers an ASHP accredited PGY2 Pharmacy Residency in Pain Management and Palliative Care as a one year post PGY1 pharmacy residency program designed to provide the resident with advanced knowledge, expertise, common skills, and abilities required to provide pain management and palliative care. It also provides exposure to the development of pain related policies within the Department of Veterans Affairs ensuring safe opioid use. The ultimate goal of the program is to enhance the resident’s competence and skills as a productive member of the interdisciplinary health care team in the areas of chronic pain management, substance use disorder, hospice/palliative care, acute pain management and pain stewardship and upon graduation
