PGY2 residency programs build upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency training to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined in the educational competency areas, goals, and objectives for advanced practice areas. Residents who successfully complete PGY2 residency programs are prepared for advanced patient care or other specialized positions, and board certification in the advanced practice area, if available. CBMC offers two 52-week PGY2 Pharmacy Residency Programs in Geriatrics and Critical Care. Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (formerly known at Saint Barnabas Medical Center) is part of RWJBarnabas Health, the most comprehensive health care delivery system in New Jersey serving over 5 million people. Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center currently offers 1 PGY2 position in Geriatrics and 1 PGY2 position in Critical Care.
Requirements: Graduation from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree Completion of (or completing) an ASHP accredited or candidate-status PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Eligible for pharmacist licensure in NJ
