For more than half a century, North Kansas City Hospital has been the Northland’s preferred healthcare provider. What started as an 80-bed community hospital is now a 451-licensed bed premiere healthcare facility with more than 3,000 employees and 520 physicians representing 46 medical specialties. NKCH offers award-winning cardiovascular and orthopedic programs and advanced cancer treatment options, including world-class care through a partnership with the region’s only National Cancer Institute-designated program.
NKCH Pharmacy Department
North Kansas City Hospital’s Pharmacy Department promotes safe and effective patient care through all aspects of the medication use process. It's staff collaborates with providers and allied health professionals to continually monitor, deliver and improve patient-centered care.
The Pharmacy Department emphasizes continuous professional development and provides opportunities for direct patient care and interaction, involvement in hospital-based committees and professional organizations, and other educational opportunities...
PGY-1 Residency
The overarching goal for North Kansas City Hospital’s Post Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Residency program is to develop skilled, well-rounded professionals who are either ready to begin practice or enter a PGY-2 program immediately after completing the program. To meet this goal, PGY-1 residents will engage in a flexible and challenging curriculum. Preceptors work with each resident to create an educational experience that supports individual goals.
Over the course of the year, residents will attend national and local professional meetings, participate in a teaching certificate program offered by the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy, and design/conduct a research project.
