A comprehensive residency designed to develop a competent and compassionate hematology/oncology pharmacy practitioner, researcher, and preceptor/educator. The program is customized to meet the individual needs and goals of each resident. Experiences include medical oncology, malignant hematology, hematopoietic cell transplantation (autologous and allogeneic, including cord and haploidentical transplants and CAR-T), pediatric hematology/oncology, gynecology oncology, ambulatory care (heme/onc and HCT), Investigational Drug Pharmacy services (oncology specific), research, administration, and graduate teaching certificate.

Program highlights:

• Variety of core and elective rotation experiences offered in all areas of oncology practice, including transplant, CAR-t therapy and pediatrics
• Experiences within Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center, Children's Hospital of Georgia, and the Georgia Cancer Center -- all on one centrally located campus in downtown Augusta, Georgia 
• UGA advanced Teaching Certificate (includes extensive teaching portfolio)
• High-quality research and scholarship opportunities
• Variety of teaching and inter-professional experiences 
• Investigational Drug Services/ Clinical Research Pharmacy/ IRB (oncology specific)
• Residents will have an unpaid appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy.

Wellstar MCG pharmacists have teaching appointments as clinical faculty and pharmacy preceptors for the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and institution also serves as the clinical practice site for six full-time UGA pharmacy faculty.
