Overview:
The East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy is seeking applicants for a PGY2 pharmacy residency in internal medicine. The residency is ASHP-accredited and has a secondary emphasis in academia, which prepares the graduate to excel as a clinical faculty member or clinical specialist with teaching (precepting and/or academic) responsibilities.
Program Description:
The successful applicant will spend a significant portion of time working with full-time internal medicine faculty members as well as with clinical specialists at Johnson City Medical Center, a teaching hospital and Level 1 trauma center affiliated with the East Tennessee State University. Residents are expected to participate in the Department of Family Medicine Transitions of Care Clinic once per week and staff at Johnson City Medical Center one weekend per month.
The successful applicant will also instruct students in didactic, active learning, and experiential settings. The resident will be mentored to independently precept pharmacy students by the end of the residency year.
Required Rotations (8 months): Orientation, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Critical Care Medicine, Cardiology, Medicine Precepting, Hospitalist Medicine
Required Longitudinal Rotations: Ambulatory Care (1 afternoon/ week), Clinical staffing

The East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy (BGCOP) is seeking applicants for a PGY2 Ambulatory Care resident, a PGY2 Internal Medicine resident, and an Academic Pharmacy Fellow. The PGY2 residencies are ASHP-accredited and have a secondary emphasis in academia, which prepares the graduate to excel as a clinical faculty member or clinical specialist with teaching responsibilities. The academic fellowship is a 2-year program with an emphasis on academia and public health.
